some of you have suggested that i ditch my cable service, and switch to satellite. it would, for example, get rid of twc's (weather star) black bar, plus i'd get access to more channels. good points, but to get the channels i think i need, the satellite service would be too expensive for me.
of course, if it really is a good idea for me to subscribe to a satellite service, you'd contribute. :-)
here's the deal: you guys contribute to pay for the first 6 months, then i'll pay for the next 6 months (it wouldn't hurt if you contributed enough to pay for my part too ;-)). the front runner for now seems to be directv's total choice plus with local channels, and on their website it says it's $39.99 a month. so you guys will have to cough up at least $239.94 (= 6 months × $39.99/month).
